    5 Jun 2017 Open Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. In the Preferences dialog box, choose General in the Categories list, and then select the Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer check box. Click OK. Wait for a few seconds while Acrobat is configured to show thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer.

    Open Adobe Reader, click Edit, Preferences. Under “General”, enable the option Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer . Note: If you’ve chosen to disable PDF thumbnails, existing PDF files may still show thumbnail preview from the cache. The thumbnail cache needs to cleared using Disk Cleanup.

    With a new clean install of Windows 7 64-bit and installing Adobe Reader 9, I’m just getting the adobe icons instead of a thumbnail of each PDF

    2 May 2018 To do that, follow these steps: Open Adobe Reader. Now choose File > Open. Navigate to the directory that has your PDF files. Your thumbnails should now be generated. Don’t open or select any PDF files. Close Adobe Reader. Now open File Explorer and go to the directory that has your PDF files.
