Russia supports the return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian Nuclear Program (JCPOA). This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov, reports TASS.

At the same time, the Minister noted that a return to the nuclear deal is possible only in its original form. Any additions and withdrawals are unacceptable for the Iranian side, Lavrov stressed.

“If contacts become more active, apparently, the parties want to come to a resumption of the agreement. It can be resumed only in the same form in which it was approved by the UN Security Council in 2015. And we fully support this approach,” the Foreign Minister said.

Earlier, Lavrov spoke about the main outcome of the G20 summit held in Rome, Italy. According to him, it lies in the fact that attempts to promote unilateral approaches turned out to be unclaimed.

The G20 is an informal association of the largest, economically developed and developing countries. It was founded on the initiative of the USA and Canada within the framework of the summit in 1999. This year, the G20 summit is being held in Rome on October 30-31.
