The Austrian oil and gas company OMV has refused new investments in Russian projects and intends to reconsider its stake in the Yuzhno-Russkoye field. This is reported on the company’s website.
OMV noted that Russia is one of the key regions in the company’s exploration and production portfolio. However, the executive board decided not to make any investments in Russian projects in the future.
“In addition, a strategic audit of its 24.99 percent stake in the Yuzhno-Russkoye field will be launched,” the report says.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called on the European Union to completely abandon oil, coal and gas from Russia. “To do this, we must diversify supplies, achieve better results in energy efficiency and we must invest heavily in renewable energy sources,” she said.
