My 35-70 also has oily blades, but will work til f9 or so just fine, and I won’t touch it. I will NEVER clean a zoom lens myself again. Putting it together was an awful job. I will rather give 50 Euro to the guys in an old traditional photo-equipment repair service. They cleaned my 70-210 f4 fantastically!
