The command of the air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that Russian reconnaissance aircraft allegedly grossly violated the airspace by flying into the exercise zone in the Black Sea. This is reported in the Facebook of the command.
The report notes that the Su-24MR and Il-20 aircraft crossed the combat courses of the VR-3 Reis type targets, which were used by Ukrainian anti-aircraft guided missiles. However, the text does not say what kind of exercises are being discussed.
“In the area of combat firing of anti-aircraft missile troops of the Air Forces and air defense forces of the land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Black Sea, Russian Federation reconnaissance aircraft such as Su-24MR and Il-20 grossly violated the procedure for using airspace, repeatedly flying into the restricted zone that Ukraine has reserved for conducting exercises,” the text says.
Until September 30, strategic command and staff exercises “United Efforts-2021” with the involvement of military personnel and equipment of NATO countries are being held in Ukraine in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
On September 23, Estonia accused Russia of violating its airspace. In Tallinn, they claim that in the area of the island of Vaindloo, the Russian Air Force A-50 aircraft violated the air border of the republic, and this is the sixth case of violation of the airspace by Russian aircraft since the beginning of 2021.
