Russia is still waiting for a written response from the United States on security guarantees and wants to receive it in the coming days: not necessarily tomorrow, but at least next week. Such an appeal was made by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, quoted by RIA Novosti.
“Time has [meaning]. We are talking about the fact that we expect to receive it one of these days. It is absolutely not necessary that tomorrow,” the Kremlin said, commenting on the words of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that he does not plan to transmit a response to Russia’s security proposals on January 21 (during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov).
Peskov added that the United States and NATO express their readiness to discuss some issues with Russia, but they are not of paramount importance for it.
American leader Joe Biden also said that three rounds of negotiations with Moscow on security did not yield results, and the parties could not come to a compromise.
