The US administration has criticized the plans of the terrorist movement “Taliban” (banned in Russia) to return executions in Afghanistan as punishment for crimes. This was stated by the official representative of the State Department Ned Price, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, such actions represent clear gross violations of human rights. Washington is determined to bring to justice those responsible for such violations, Price added.

On September 24, the Associated Press agency, citing the head of the Commission on the execution of punishments, Noureddine Torabi, reported that the Taliban will return the practice of capital punishment and severing limbs used in their first period of rule. However, now women will also be able to participate in the consideration of cases in court, but the Koran will be the main law of Afghanistan. Torabi also claims that the practice of cutting off limbs has a positive effect on safety and has a “deterrent effect”.
