Here we have the Megasquirt 2 V3 the main difference from the MS1 V3 is the MS2 Daughter Board in place of the MS1 Chip, so can do all the MS1 can do and a lot more, for all the details have a good read of the MS Extra Manuals (link above).
It is actually very simple. There are two types of Megasquirt ships: I and II. The II chip is faster and can do more calculations than the I chip. There are two types of Megasquirt hardware that the chip can go into: V2.2 and V3. The V2.2 board is great for fuel only setups while the V3 is almost perfectly setup to do both fuel and spark control.

Anyhow, back to the history lesson. A few years later MS2 was brought out by Bruce and Al, basically this was a daughter board that replaced the MS1 processor on the V2.2, V3.0 or V3.57 board. This daughter board has CAN capability, a faster processor, more memory and the ability to drive a stepper motor idle vavle.
