Shadin doesn’t include fuel remaining in their serial data from most of their totalizers so it’s necessary to input a fuel quantity in the 480 at startup. AFaIK if the 480 asks the initial fuel question but won’t allow entry that means it’s configured for fuel flow input but it’s not recognizing any fuel flow data on the assigned port.

I suspect my fuel flow transducer has failed, as both the factory and the Shadin gauge have quit. (Though the Shadin lasted longer than the factory. Not sure what could cause this.) This is on a 1997 A36, Beech part number 102-389012-11, Shadin part number 680600. (Shadin manufactured the original Beech transducer.)
